Adult Classes

We are so excited to bring opportunities to our dance parents and adults in our community! Classes will range from Fitness to Yoga to Dance and are just for YOU, mom and dad!!!

 

CURRENT CLASSES

Power Align

  • Who

    • For any parent of one of our dancers, or any adult (age 18+) in the community
  • What In this 60 minute class Rachel invites you to align your spine through black strap and felt pad work (see class description for Yoga for Backs). This class is slow and strong to encourage a deepening of your physical, mental and emotional well being. We will explore all types of poses within this class: Standing, seated, balancing, arm balancing and of course a juicy savasana at the end to integrate the entire practice and to shift further into a place of centeredness and relaxation. Come learn more about how you move and how to create harmony: body, mind and soul.

  • When

    • Mondays, 9:00-10:00am.

FIT BOOTCAMP

  • Who

    • For any parent of one of our dancers, or any adult (age 18+) in the community who is experienced in bootcamp/weight training
  • What

    • This is not a yoga class. This well-paced workout, targeting various muscle groups, is designed to help build strength and endurance. The instructor creates a fresh flow of exercises for every class, and offers modification to accommodate various fitness levels. Participants are to bring their own fit ball, yoga mat, and dumbbells. Music, conversation, and hard work are all mixed together for an hour of fun and exercise.
  • When

    • Tuesdays, 9:00-10:00am and/or Thursdays, 9:00-10:00am.

YOGA for BACKS

  • Who

    • For any parent of one of our dancers, or any adult (age 18+) in the community
  • What

    • Yoga for Backs is a practice that will help you relieve strain and tension in the body by using long holds in therapeutic postures. Once the body has released into the posture we integrate intelligent movement with the use of specific props to activate the proper muscles. This results in harmonizing deeply rooted preference patterns with proper movement to realign your spine and improve your over-all well being. This class is beneficial for everyone including beginners; if you have severe spinal conditions/injury please consult your doctor before joining the class.
  • When

    • Wednesdays, 9:00-10:00am.

The Original FLOW YOGA (ASHTANGA)

  • Who

    • For any parent of one of our dancers, or any adult (age 18+) in the community
  • What

    • This class is based on the traditional Yoga that was created in India over 100 years ago. It is modified to fit into the 75 minute class and into your busy lifestyle!! Come have fun, sweat, move your body while learning breathing techniques and tricks to quieting your mind. This class is open for all levels. See you on your mat.
  • When

    • Fridays, 9:00-10:15am.

DANCE FUSION

  • Who

    • For any parent of one of our dancers, or adult (age 18+) in the community who just wants to have fun and learn a few moves ;)
  • What

    • This class will target a variety of styles, including Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip Hop, etc. Each week will include a warm-up, some stretching, and a fun combo for you to take home!
  • When

    • Fridays, 12:30-1:30pm.

Tap Dance

  • Who

    • For any parent of one of our dancers, or adult (age 18+) in the community
  • What

    • Use of tapping footwear and precise foot movements in various patterns to create an audible form of theatrical dance with music and rhythm awareness. Absolutely no previous experience required, just your Tap shoes and positive attitude!
  • When

    • Tuesdays, 7:45-8:45pm.

FAQs

What are the costs?

  • Early bird rates are calculated at $13.00 per class
  • Regular rates are calculated at $16.00 per class

Can you Drop-in?

  • All of our Adult Classes offer Drop-ins (providing there is space available).
  • Drop-in rates are $18.00 per class
  • Registration is requested ahead of time to ensure their is space in the class, otherwise drop-ins are welcome and payable by cash or a cheque (made out to Springbank Dancers Inc.)

What if its my first class?

  • Please just be sure to check in with your instructor upon arrival. They are amazing at providing adjustments and alterations to fit a variety of abilities, just be sure to let them know of any limitations you may have.
  • All new participants are welcome to try a class for free, please just pop us an email first so we can confirm there is space.
  • Please arrive 10-15min early and check in with the instructor upon arrival (you can usually find them in the studio). We do not permit outdoor shoes into the studios or past the front entrance, but you are welcome to bring in your water bottles. Please shut off your phones while in class and try to use the washroom ahead of time so there are no disruptions during class.

What level is each class?

  • For many of our classes, all levels are welcome. Please just ensure you email the office ahead of time if you're concerned about anything not being the right fit. Typically our Tuesday Bootcamp class is more advanced than our Thursday, and our Monday and Wednesday yoga classes are great for beginners and all ages!

Are there any facilities available?

  • Unfortunately we do not have access to showers but their are change rooms, a small kitchen, washrooms, equipment, a bottle filler and more!
